I
Stop the presses! A weight-loss guru not interested in getting pregnant? No way! I’m totally being sarcastic by the way. Biggest Looser trainer Jillian Michaels set off a media storm when her interview with Women’s Health hit the stands.

The 36-year old trainer stated that “I can’t handle doing that to my body.” Of course, in this society that somehow morphed into I Won’t Ruin My Body with Pregnancy. But that’s a whole other story, and I just don’t want to open that can of worms. So what makes this Jillian Michaels article such a big deal or the supposed implication that pregnancy will mess up your body, so just don’t do it. Um… that’s not what she said at all, and even if she did, why would anyone come to that conclusion?

According to one health expert “She is teaching people about body image and self-esteem. Women who have children all the time and get right back in shape particularly if they exercise,” Dr. Leslie Seppinni, a Los Angeles-based Family Therapist & Clinical Psychologist. “If this is how she truly feels, she should seek counsel before coaching others on issues of body image.”

According to Jillian Michaels, her decision against bearing children also has to do with “emotional issues and physical limitations that have resulted in that conclusion, some I have discussed publicly and some I haven’t.”

Makes sense to me. I mean, her body is her bread and butter. If she loses one pack from that six or her arms get a little flabby, she will no longer be a weight-loss guru. That means, no more Biggest Loser, no more best selling self-help books, no talk show to rival Martha Stewart or Oprah in 2011. Besides it’s not as if she’s throwing the idea of child rearing off table. She does want to adopt.

My question is what gives us the right to judge her decision to NOT get pregnant? If she has these issues, I for one applaud the maturity and thoughtfulness behind her decision. Good for you Jillian Michaels! And good luck!

Tiger Woods Accident, courtesy of TMZ
Okay… I REALLY tried not to write about this, but this Tiger Woods car accident thing has quickly become a juicy Tiger Woods scandal. And well… I just had to write about it LOL.

Tiger Woods car accident triggers media storm

So here is how it started. On November 27 at about 2:30 am, neighbors in the upscale neighborhood of Isleworth community in Windermere, Florida awoke to the site of an unconscious Tiger Woods in the drivers side of his 2009 Escalade…snoring. A frantic Elin Nordegren Woods (his wife) begged them for help as both Woods’ mother and mother-in-law came out of his home to see what was going on. First thing out of the ordinary… a golf cart was beside his car with 2 golf clubs in it (Elin had driven the cart). Even stranger, Woods damaged the car on the right side, but the windshield was not even cracked; yet there were paint marks and damage on the left side of the front end and a big hole in the the driver’s side back-seat window. Woods also had a cut lip and facial lacerations that were NOT consistent with the accident. Not to mention that Elin changed her story about the accident twice and Woods decided he just wasn’t going to speak to the police.

The couple’s bizarre reaction to the incident fueled rumors all over the internet and in the media. Before you could blink, buzz of a Tiger Woods affair and marriage drama was spreading like wild fire.

Tiger Woods personal life put on blast

Rachel Uchitel, Jaimee Grubbs and Kalika Moquin are names that are now infamous, but up until last week we had never heard of these chicks (yeah I said it – chicks). First up Rachel, who was featured in the National Enquirer alleging that Woods was seeing the New York club hostess. Uchitel denied all of this, but curiously enough, hires feminist attorney Gloria Allred to represent her. She then scheduled a press conference for today and just as suddenly canceled it. Gee that’s not suspicious at all.

Then there’s wannabe reality star Jaime Grubbs. Best known for her stint in the VH1 reality show Tool Academy. She came out of nowhere with an exclusive in US Weekly claiming that she had been having an affair with Tiger Woods for the past 2 1/2 years. They would meet at a hotel room once a month and well…get it on. Better yet, she has proof! Apparently Woods called her and left a voice mail a few days before the accident and begged her to take her name off her voice mail because Elin was going through his phone and would be calling her. Right after this lovely bombshell, guess who comes out with a confession/apology on his website? Tiger Woods. And I quote…

Tiger Woods Affair, alleged mistresses from left to right Rachel Uchitel, Jaimee Grubbs and Kalika Moquin“I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.”

Wow… He never actually admits to an affair or affairs, but “transgressions” – really? Last but not least, Kalika Moquin the 27-year-old Las Vegas club promoter is the latest mistress in the Tiger Woods scandal. When approached she said, “It’s not appropriate for me to comment one way or the other. At this time, I’m just choosing to focus on my job.” Uh you know what is appropriate?  If you are innocent, you can say that you aren’t Tiger Woods’ mistress. Hmmm maybe I’m just being TOO logical.

Seriously I never knew Tiger had it in him. 3 girls + his wife. That is insane. On top of that your wife is a hottie. Some guys are just never satisfied :/ . Bottom line, WE ARE NOT married to Tiger Woods, so who he sleeps with is none of our business. And what he’s doing has nothing to do with his actual career which is golf… remember?

Good Tipping Etiquette
Imagine going  to a local restaurant/bar to unwind after a hard day at work. You don’t expect much -  just your meal on time, utensils and a decent attitude. That isn’t too much to ask for right? Well at one restaurant in Pennsylvania you are asking for too much. And if you don’t pay the tip… you get ARRESTED??!!

That’s what happened to Pope and John Wagner who were hauled away by police and charged with theft for not paying the mandatory 18 % tip – totaling $16 after eating at  —— (Yeah, I am not in the business of putting names of business out there. We all have to make a living).

Pope claims that her group  had to wait an hour for their order and get napkins and silverware for the table herself.  “At this point I became very annoyed because I had already gone up to the bar myself to have my soda refilled because the waitress never came back,” Pope said.  After the $73 bill came, the group paid for food, drinks, and tax but refused to pay the tip. After explaining the bad service to the bartender in charge, Pope claimed he took their money and called police. The couple was handcuffed and placed in the back of a police car.

Can you really be arrested for not tipping you server? Ummm… Maybe

Since the tip was part of the actual bill, it is considered refusing to pay for service  which is illegal. I might add that the owner claims he offered to comp the dinner, an action that the Popes deny. My two cents on this? If they really offered to comp the dinner, I don’t see them turning right around and calling the police on them for not tipping. Hmmm I don’t know just common sense.

To Tip or Not to Tip… That is the Question

This story really got me thinking and I realize that I am annoyed. Are they serious? Why the heck would anyone pay for bad service?? I mean if I wasn’t doing the job you hired me for… I would be fired or at the very least reprimanded – as with most jobs in this country.

So I decided to do a little research on tipping etiquette:

Tipping when you’ve had bad service:
If you get bad service, talk to the manager. The manager cannot correct the situation if he doesn’t know about it. Skipping the tip will not accomplish anything. Well in this case you accomplish getting a criminal record.

Tipping when you’re the one paying:
If you are buying the meal and someone offers to get the tip, tell them they can buy next time, and you pay the whole thing.

Tipping for double time:
If you hold a table for 2 serving periods, make sure that you tip double. In other words, if you spend enough time at a table that a waiter could have typically gotten 2 parties seated and served, then compensate him for his time by tipping him twice.
